Reliance Retail is India’s largest retail company, with over 18,040 stores across 7,000+ towns. The company reported a revenue of ₹ 2,60,364 crores in FY2022-23, making it the number one retail chain in India by revenue. Reliance retail is currently a subsidiary of Reliance Industries.
Reliance Retail is one of the top 10 most visited digital retailers in the world. It is growing at a staggering 30% year-on-year growth rate.
In addition to its strong physical presence, Reliance Retail also has a significant digital presence. There are handful of shopping sites owned by Reliance Retail,from where they sell all kinds of things including clothes, digital appliances, groceries, cosmetics, furniture and Medicines etc.
Some of these portals were acquired, while many were developed in-house.

1. JioMart
JioMart is a hyperlocal shopping site that connects customers to local stores. Launched in 2020, JioMart sells a variety of products, including groceries, electronics, toys, and clothing. You can also order through WhatsApp, thanks to an investment from Meta. Reliance also uses their offline stores to deliver products through JioMart.
2. Ajio
AJIO is an online fashion and lifestyle retailer that sells trendy clothing, home textiles, and footwear for men, women, and kids. Launched in 2016, AJIO is a competitor to Flipkart-owned Myntra.
3. Reliance Digital
Reliance Digital is a consumer electronics retailer. They leverage their offline stores to deliver electronic devices faster and efficiently. It directly competes with Tata’s Croma.
4. Tira
Tira is the latest ecommerce portal launched by Reliance Retail. Tira is a beauty and cosmetic shopping site. It is a direct competitor to Nykaa and Tata Cliq. Tira also has a skin analysis tool to determine the skin type and get personalized recommendations for products.
Tira is an omnichannel brand. The first Tira store opened in Mumbai in April 2023, and the company plans to open more stores in the coming months.
5. NetMeds
NetMeds is India’s third largest online pharmacy portal, delivering over 60,000 medicines to customers in over 670 towns across the country. It is a direct competitor to Apollo Pharmacy and Tata1mg.
In August 2020, Reliance Retail acquired a 60% stake in Netmeds‘ parent firm Vitalic for about $83.2 million. This acquisition gives Reliance Retail a significant foothold in the growing online pharmacy market in India.
6. Zivame
Zivame is a lingerie shopping brand started in 2011. In 2020, Reliance Retail acquired a 15% stake in Actoserba Active Wholesale, which owns and operates online lingerie store Zivame. The deal cost was undisclosed. Reliance said to increase their stake in Zivame in future.
7. Amante
Reliance Retail acquired 100% stake in ‘Amante’ from MAS Brands, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka-based MAS Holdings in Novermber, 2021. Amante is an international intimate wear brand that sells nightwear, swimwear and innerwears.
8. Clovia
Clovia is also an intimate wear brand. It manufactures and sells nightwear, swimwear and lingerie from its stores and online portal. In March 2022, Reliance Retail acquired 89% stake in Clovia for $125 million.
9. Milkbasket
Milkbasket is a subscription based platform which delivers fruits, groceries and dairy products. The company currently operates in 35 cities across India. Reliance acquired 96.49% stake in milkbasket for $40 million in 2021.
10. Urban Ladder
Urban Ladder is an online furniture marketplace. The company had also shifted to offline retail in 2017 to become an omnichannel brand. In November, 2020 Reliance Retail acquired a 96% stake in the Urban Ladder. They plan to double their retail store by March 2024.
11. Ed-a-Mamma
Ed-a-Mamma is an online seller of Kids wear and Maternity wear. It was founded by actress Alia Bhatt. In Sept, 2023 Reliance Retail acquired a majority 51% stake in it.
12. Dunzo
Reliance Retail acquired a 25.8% stake in Dunzo for $200 million. Google is also an investor in Dunzo. Dunzo delivers groceries, medicines and pet supplies using a hyperlocal model. It also has a separate service to pick up and deliver packages within the same city.
Except these companies, Reliance retail has also invested in a number of personal brand labels of many renowned fashion designers, including Satya Paul, Raghvendra Rathore, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna, Rahul Mishra, Abraham & Thakore, Ritu Kumar, and Manish Malhotra.
